Abstract Zooplankton is a good indicator of water quality state. Analysing the species composition and abundance, it possible to assess condition body predict direction changes. The aim study was analyse zooplankton in shallow urban lake, which restoration limited one method, i.e. wind-aeration. results were compared with earlier data obtained during sustainable (three methods: wind-aeration, phosphorus inactivation, biomanipulation) before period. sampled monthly 2015 2016 deepest place lake from surface bottom. trophic state determined based on rotifer index for lakes (TSI ROT ). Although communities varied very little among periods ( Keratella cochlearis f. tecta mainly dominated), significant changes abundance found analysed lake. maximum total noted 2015, almost 5500 ind. L −1 , next year its decrease 3-fold, ca. 1800 L-1. Based TSI still eutrophic. Leaving only method (namely, oxygenation bottom waters) proved insufficient support development crucial organisms as cladocerans. could have resulted more seasonal than effects aeration.
